Tirupur Subramanyam, famous distributor and the head of Tamil nadu distributors association, slammed Vijay and Ajith for not promoting their recently released films like how Kamal Haasan single handedly promoted it throughout the world after the success of “Vikram”. The distributor said that Vijay and Ajith must promote their films in order the widen their market nationally.

“Hero and Heroines who say that they won’t promote their own films, should change after seeing Kamal Haasan. Only because of his promotion, ” Vikram” got this kind of opening. Kamal Haasan is a senior artist. Rajini-Kamal is a hundred years once wonder similar to MGR-Sivaji. Kamal himself visits various countries for the promotion of his film and his next generation artists should learn from him” Tiruppur Subramanyam said.

“Team RRR came to Chennai twice. They went to Mumbai, Kolkata, Dubai and all over the world to promote their film. Pushpa team also visited various places for promotion. But they didn’t go to any place for “Beast” or “Valimai”, knowing that they have star value” The distributor further said.

“They have star value only in Tamil nadu not in any other place. They should understand this. If they want star value across the country, they should do promotions on their own interest. They think not attending promotions is a pride to them. Its not a pride, it’s a strain to the producer who invested money believing in you” he added.

As far as the promotion of “Vikram” is concerned, on 26th of May, Kamal attended a pre release event at Delhi and on 27th, he reached Cochin to promote the film. The actor also appeared in the Bigg Boss Malayalam show on 28th of May and on the same day, he reached Mumbai for pre release event.

On 29th, Kamal Haasan reached Kuala Lumpur and attended a pre release event in Hyderabad on 31st. 1st of June, Kamal visited Burj Khalifa, Dubai and released the trailer of his film in the world’s tallest building.

“Vikram” released on 3rd of June with much expectations among fans and has exceeded it. The film, reportedly collected Rs. 165 crores world wide until the weekend, according to reports. Plot of the film revolves around former militant Vikram accomplishing a mission to destroy the drugs that has potential to ruin the society.

With Kamal Haasan playing the titular role, Vijay Sethupathi appeared as a ruthless drug Lord with three wives. Fahad Fassil played the role of a private detective agent and Suriya appeared in a guest appearance as well.
