In a promotional interview that took place for his upcoming film “Yaanai”, director Hari and actor Arun Vijay said that the success of “Vikram” is a proud moment for them as a members of Tamil film industry. Hari of “Singam”, “Saami” fame said that many questioned him about the success of other language films since the start of this year and he was longing for a Tamil film to get a huge success to make them shut. The filmmaker said that he personally called Lokesh Kanagaraj and wished him.

“We are actually celebrating the success of “Vikram”. Yesterday, I called Lokesh Kanagaraj and said to him that I don’t know where he was at but I am celebrating the victory of him in every place I visit. He asked me to mention it us “our” victory. Tamil film industry needed such victory” Director Hari said in the press meet.

“All the films of other languages were doing well in theatres and I was thinking that it would be good of a Tamil films becomes a huge success. Because many people came to me asking why Tamil can’t do such huge success and whether Tamil films could pull off such films” said Hari in the interview.

“I would answer them saying that Tamil film industry is better in giving commercial hits as well as films with strong storylines” Hari said and expressed his happiness over the success of Vikram. Arun Vijay, on the other hand, said that “Vikram” made him to feel proud in front of other language Film industries.

“Vikram” released on 3rd of June with much expectations among fans and has exceeded it. The film, reportedly collected Rs. 165 crores world wide until the weekend, according to reports. Plot of the film revolves around former militant Vikram accomplishing a mission to destroy the drugs that has potential to ruin the society.

“Tamil fans never failed to save good quality films and the talented actors as well. Its our pleasure that you people chose our “Vikram” movie to become a success. Starting from Mr. Anirudh, Mr. Gireesh, Mr. Philomin, Mr. Anbariv, Mr. Sathees to the anonymous one who worked for the film should receive the appreciation of fans equally and that’s what right too” Kamal Haasan said in a gratitude video that was released on Tuesday.

The film which released with huge pre release business, collected Rs. 200 crore in four days of theatrical run, according to reports. It is also expected to break many more box office records as footfall is good so far.
