Delhi Man Assaulted and Abducted After Refusing to Pay Nightclub Bill During Date

A horrifying incident unfolded at a nightclub in Preet Vihar, east Delhi, when a 26-year-old man was brutally assaulted and abducted by bouncers of the establishment after he refused to pay the bill. The incident occurred on July 27 and came to light when the victim’s family rushed him to Hedgewar hospital for treatment of his serious injuries. The police, who are investigating the matter, have arrested three suspects and are on the lookout for at least five others who are absconding. The assailants, including the nightclub manager and the woman the victim was on a date with, filmed the assault and later extorted him for cash before dumping him near his house in Vivek Vihar.

According to police reports, the man and the woman connected through a dating app and decided to meet at the nightclub in Preet Vihar. Upon arrival, the woman ordered wine for herself, while the man ordered food for himself. However, when the bill arrived, an altercation broke out between the two as both refused to pay. The woman then allegedly spoke to the manager and left the scene.

In a shocking turn of events, the nightclub employees, including the manager and several bouncers and waiters, assaulted the man when he refused to pay the bill. Subsequently, they forcibly took him in their car, while another individual drove his car, and they headed towards Meerut. On the way, near the Ganga Canal, the suspects subjected the victim to a sexual assault, capturing the heinous act on a mobile phone. They also robbed him of ₹8,000 in cash and extorted an additional ₹50,000 from him.

VICTIM’S STATEMENT

After the man agreed to the extortion demands, they brought him back to Delhi and abandoned him inside his car near Vivekananda College for Women in Vivek Vihar. He managed to reach home and informed his family, who rushed him to the hospital for medical attention.

Initially, the police registered a First Information Report (FIR) for attempt to commit culpable homicide, abduction, unnatural offenses, robbery, and criminal intimidation. However, as suspicions arose about the possible involvement of the woman in the crime, they added charges of extortion, attempted murder, and criminal conspiracy against her.
