You have to be extremely dedicated. She managed to complete her 11th and 12th grades, but the demands of a burgeoning modeling career, coupled with frequent travel to Mumbai and Delhi, posed an arduous challenge. The pursuit of two parallel dreams, education and modeling, proved to be a Herculean task. “I finished my 11th and 12th. And even during my 11th and 12th, I just about managed to finish because I was already a very successful model by that time and I was based in Bangalore. But I used to keep traveling to Mumbai and Delhi for work. And I couldn’t keep up,” she reminisces.

Deepika’s tenacity shines as she details her attempts to continue her education through alternative means. Distance education was a viable option, yet it too proved to be elusive. She acknowledges her parents’ concerns, as they held firm to the belief that a foundational degree was essential. “I tried to do one year of my degree through college. I couldn’t do that. Then I tried to do distance education. I couldn’t complete that as well. So, I am just a 12th pass,” she admits with a hint of introspection.

Amidst the struggle to balance her aspirations, Deepika’s parents played a pivotal role. Their unwavering support became a cornerstone in her journey to success. Initially hesitant about her unconventional choices, they gradually recognized her passion and determination. Deepika acknowledges their evolution, noting, “My parents had a big issue with that; they always wanted me to start working only after a basic degree. But along the way, they realized how passionate I was about what I wanted to do. And I think I wouldn’t have been able to achieve what I did without their support,” she shares, her smile radiating gratitude.
