South Africa won England by 107 runs at Centurion on the fourth day pf the first test match and is now leading the 4 match test series with 1-0. The much needed win from Porteas comes after five consecutive losses in Test cricket.

This was South Africa’s first win in a Boxing Day Test against England out of the 7 matches played till date between both sides and 6th in a row at Centurion. This win will give South Africa the much-needed boost as they head into a new era with their new management and support staff. The Proteas had inducted Mark Boucher as head coach before the start of this series while Graeme Smith was appointed as CSA’s Director of Cricket.

The overhaul was aimed at seek engineering an upswing in fortunes for the Test side that had lost five matches in a row – 2 vs India and 2 vs Sri Lanka – earlier this year. Meanwhile Dale Steyn, the 36 year old retired player of South African test team, expressed his joy over the win of his team.

The cricketer who is very much active in the micro blogging social media site wrote “Well done to the Proteas! Mark and Faf seem to have put together a team that looks hungry, has fight, but above all look menacing with real intent towards their skill. All characteristics that I grew up with when I played under Smith and co. Gr8 to see the boys back! #proteas”

This tweet received well by many of his 33 lakh followers. However, an Indian fan named as Siddharth Mishra replied to Dale’s tweet in a way of mocking their victory. He asked Dale to “Chill out” as the team is playing at home. “Playing at home! Chill out for god sakes..” his reply tweet read.

This reply grabbed the attention of Dale who immediately came up with a reply saying that according his standards, the wins earned by India in India would also be not considered as real victories. The cricketer expressed his frustration by calling him as “idiot” as well. “I guess India in India also doesn’t count then either… And just by the way, God has nothing to do with this. Idiot” Steyn’s reply read.

It is notable that India won many of the recent test match and ODI series in India. Even the world cup won by India in 2011 was took place in India, as we all know.
