Court ordered Aishwarya Rajinikanth to appear in court regarding a case filed related t0 the smoking scenes that took place in the 2014 released “Vela Illaa Pattathari” movie. Reports says that Aishwarya Rajinikanth’s filed a counter case requesting the cancellation of the case, to ban the investigation and to remove the demand of her presence in the court. Judge N. Sathish Kumar who heard the case, removed the demand of the director cum producer’s presence in the court on Friday and postponed the hearing to 10th of August.

Dhanush starring “Vella Illaa Pattathari” released on 18th of July 2104. The film had Amala Paul, Vivekh, Srubhi, Saranya Ponvannan, Samuthrakani in the supporting roles. Produced by “Wunderbar Films”, the film was directed by Velraj. The film’s plot revolves around an unemployed youngster struggling to find a job based on his Civil Engineering degree and facing the problems and succeeding in his life after becoming an engineer. Actor Dhanush appeared in the film as Raghuvaran.

The film became a huge success among the audience and a sequel was also made under the direction of Soundarya Rajinikanth. According to Indian Express,  In 2014, Tamil nadu People’s Forum for Tobacco control , wanted Wunderbar films Private Limited, Producer of the film to be punished for the smoking scenes that took place in the film. Under Section 5 of the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products act 2003, lead actor of the film Dhanush smoking in several scenes are considered as offence. It was reported that the warning card about the smoking scenes were also not added in the film properly.

Deputy Director of Public Health who initiated the investigation filed a case against actor Dhanush and Director of Wunderbar Aishwarya Rajinikanth in the Saidapet court and it ordered both of them to appear in court on Friday. In Chennai high court, Aishwarya Rajinikanth’s side filed a counter case asking the cancellation of the inquiry, cancellation of the case and removal of the demand of her presence in court.

Judge N. Sathish Kumar who heard the case, removed the demand of the director’s presence in court Friday. Further he ordered the deputy director of Public health to answer the case and also postponed the hearing to 10th of August. Now, it has been reported that actor Dhanush is also trying to file a counter case asking for the cancellation of the case that filed against him based on the smoking scenes in VIP.
