“Chepauk Stands Are Empty, Stop This VIP Culture” – Fans Fuming After CSK vs LSG Match
Chepauk saw Chennai Super Kings emerging victorious against Lucknow Supergiants led by KL Rahul. The venue in which an IPL match took place after 1426 days, holds too many emotions of fans and players who play for the yellow franchise in the tournament. However, On Tuesday, fans who watched the match by visiting the stadium and through television, smart phones, got upset as a number of seats in the stadium left empty, despite many fans trying to get the tickets through online and through the counter.

Tweets fuming over the management blocking tickets for VIPs and leaving fans with no tickets in both counter and online are surfacing in the micro blogging social media site. Along with fans, Tamil movie director Mohan G, movie reviewer Prashanth and several other movie trackers, influential personalities came up with tweets slamming the management.
CSK started their innings with a bang as Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway displayed some exceptional batting skills, laying a strong foundation for the team to post a massive total. Gaikwad was simply sensational, toying with the LSG bowlers and making batting look effortless. Although his dismissal slowed things down, late cameos from Ambati Rayudu and MS Dhoni propelled CSK to a formidable total of 217/7 in 20 overs.

In response, LSG got off to a scorching start with KL Rahul and Kayel Mayers. Mayers, in particular, was in devastating form, smashing a fifty off just 21 balls and putting Lucknow in a promising position to chase down the target. However, LSG kept losing wickets at regular intervals, which proved to be their undoing in the end. Moeen Ali was the star with the ball, picking up four wickets as Chennai Super Kings secured a 12-run victory over Lucknow Super Giants.
Despite witnessing Chennai’a roaring come back after years, many expressed their disappointment over many seats being empty at Chepauk despite fans eagerly waiting to book tickets for a long time. “Hello @ChennaiIPL – What are you without fans ? They made you , they brought in all the revenue , show some respect !” read reviewer Prashanth’s tweet whereas another fan said “Blocking more than 25000 tickets for corporates and celebrities. So many seats are empty. Common fans not getting a chance to see the match in chepauk. Stop this VIP culture or else u will loose your loyal fans”

“Why so many empty seats in Chepauk statium at yesterday chennai super kings match… Tickets not available in counter too.. Who blocked those tickets???” Director Mohan G asked.
