Chepauk : Fans Disappointed Over Water & Food Being Sold For High Price !!

Chepauk is the venue where India and Australia are facing each other for the decider of the ongoing One Day International series. While fans were expressing their excitement over an International match being conducted in Chennai after so many years, a report emerged saying that essentials such as water and food items are being sold for high price for the fans who went to witness the match. It has been reported that audience are not allowed to bring water bottle inside the stadium and the price of 100ml water cup is being sold for Rs. 10.
India and Australia have been playing a thrilling ODI series, with each team securing a victory in the first two matches. The first ODI was held at the Wankhede Stadium, where India managed to clinch a win, while the second match in Vizag saw Australia dominate with a convincing 10-wicket victory. The third ODI is set to take place at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, which is hosting an ODI match for the first time since December 2019.
In the last ODI match held at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, West Indies pulled off a stunning eight-wicket victory over India. India had set a target of 288 runs in the first innings, with Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer scoring half-centuries. However, West Indies’ Shai Hope and Shimron Hetmyer recorded a century each to lead their team to victory in just 47.5 overs. This defeat was a disappointment for India, who had been hoping to bounce back after losing the first two matches of the series.

Stadium management didn’t allow the audience to get their bags and belongings inside. In order to prevent the audience from throwing the empty bottles at the players, authorities grabbed the bottles and threw them away, said reports. A 100 ml use and throw cup was given to the audience and Rs. 10 was received from them for each. Reports also suggested that the management charged Rs. 150 for curd rice from the price.
