Rakul Preet Singh’s dedication level to stay Underwater Endeavor, A Tale of Dedication and Resilience

Her latest venture, the upcoming film ‘I Love You,’ showcases her commitment and dedication as she undertakes a challenging underwater sequence that required her to stay submerged for a staggering 2 minutes and 30 seconds. This remarkable feat involved spending an astounding fourteen hours in the water, a true testament to her unwavering spirit and passion for her craft.

During the promotional activities for ‘I Love You,’ Rakul shared insights into her experience, explaining the rigorous preparation she underwent to connect deeply with the emotions demanded by the film. In her quest for authenticity, Rakul spent an entire month delving into her character’s mindset, striving to understand her emotions on a profound level. As part of her preparation, she trained extensively for the underwater sequence under the guidance of scuba instructor Azahaan Adenwala. Their training focused on building Rakul’s ability to hold her breath underwater for the required duration of two minutes and thirty seconds.

Rakul’s determination to execute the underwater scene was not without its challenges. The demanding shoot required her to be immersed in water from 2 p.m. in the afternoon until a staggering 4 a.m. the following morning. The constant exposure to water throughout the day, coupled with the chilling temperatures, posed a significant hurdle. However, the production team was proactive in ensuring her well-being, regularly pouring hot water over her to prevent her body from becoming excessively cold.

Furthermore, the presence of chlorine in the water resulted in Rakul experiencing discomfort and burning sensations in her eyes. Nevertheless, she embraced these challenges with enthusiasm and saw them as opportunities to test her limits and explore new facets of her craft. Despite the physical discomfort and demanding circumstances, Rakul’s determination and resilience shone through, and she persevered, delivering a stellar performance.
