Rajinikanth starrer Petta released in theaters on January 10. The film witnessed a clash at the box office as Ajith starrer Viswasam also released on the same day.

Petta is continuing to do well at the box office as the Pongal holidays gave the audience time to watch the film over and over again. The film is doing extremely well in the overseas market as well.

After the mammoth success of 2.0, Rajinikanth has another successful film in his kitty in Karthik Subbaraj’s Petta. Also starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Vijay Sethupathi, Simran and Trisha Krishnan in the pivotal roles, Petta is now all set to go past Rs 150 crore mark at the worldwide box office. Since its release on January 10, Petta has been unstoppable at the worldwide box office. The movie opened at no. 2 in Tamil Nadu, but overall there is no stopping this Rajinikanth starrer.

Earlier Sunpictures tweeted that the collection reports of the trackers in social media are completely baseless. Sun pictures said that the production house themselves could not get to know the actual collections. Check out their tweet here :

Now Tirupur Subramanyam in a press meet along with Karthick Subbaraj has addressed the authentic collection report of the movie. “This is not from any media or any others, This report is from distributors association. Petta is going to collect 100 crores in Tamilnadu state by coming sunday which is in 11 days. This is the first time achievement. We theatre owners, Distributors and Producers are very happy with the success of “Petta”.” he said in the meet.

Sharing this video in their official twitter handle Sun pictures wrote “Here is the AUTHENTIC #Petta BO report : Veteran distributor Tirupur Subramaniam states that from this Sunday, #Petta will become the FIRST Tamil film to cross 100 crores in 11 days in Tamil Nadu ALONE. #PettaFastest100CrsInTN” in the caption.
