A number of fans who use twitter are trending “Boycott Liger” hashtag ahead of the film’s release. In recent days, the trend of demanding boycott of high profile movies is being followed by the users of the micro blogging social media site. Most lately, a group of internet users wanted to ban Amir Khan’s “Lal Singh Chaddha” film. Now, on Saturday, hashtag “Boycott Liger” is trending in the twitter platform.
“Liger” is one of the most awaited films of the “Arjun Reddy” actor in which he is going to play the role of an MMA fighter who goes on to win his matches. Known for his films that involves romance and violence, Vijay is expected to rock in the never seen before Avatar of him. Along with Vijay Devarakonda, the film stars Ananya Pandey, former boxing champion Mike Tyson and others. The film is directed by Puri Jagannath of “Pokkiri” and “Temper” fame. Renowned Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar is one of the producers of the movie.
The makers have announced the release date of the film as 25th of August, 2022. “Liger” which was originally made in Telugu is going to have its Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi versions as well. The film which is making noise ever since it’s announcement, is expected to be the next Pan Indian blockbuster.
Currently, promotions of the film is going on in full swing across the country. In an unexpected turn of events, the film landed in trouble after a number of online users started trending “Boycott Liger” through their social media handles. Various reasons are being cited by the netizens calling for the “Liger” ban. One of the main reasons that is being made is the involvement of Karan Johar.
