Lately, A draft on the New Education Policy suggested that Hindi should be included in all schools, including in non-Hindi speaking states. The volatile protest had forced the Center to announce that the NEP was only a draft and that the Centre would decide upon implementing it based on feedback from the public.

Now a recent tweet of BJP leader Amit Shah has stirred controversy as he stated that Hindi should be the identity of India. The main motto of his tweet is nothing but on “One Country, One Language”
“India is a country of different languages and every language has its own importance but it is very important to have a language of the whole country which should become the identity of India in the world,” Mr. Shah wrote on Twitter.
“Today, if one language can do the work of tying the country to the door of unity, then it is the most spoken Hindi language,” he added.
In another tweet, the home minister appealed the people to increase the usage of Hindi language to realise the dreams of Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. “Today, on the occasion of Hindi Day, I appeal to all the citizens of the country that we should increase the use of our mother tongue and also use the Hindi language as one language to realise the dreams of Bapu and iron man Sardar Patel. Happy Hindi Day,” Amit Shah said.

Social media users across Tamilnadu expressing their outrage by mocking the statement of Amit Shah. They even trolled it to some extent. Check out some of their reactions here :
All those demanding Hindi to be made the national language should be forced to learn Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam first. Let’s see whether they will continue with their ludicrous demand then! #StopHindiImperialism

I'm a proud Tamil-speaking Indian & will continue being so. I don't know Hindi. I've survived thus far & will survive, too. I will learn a language ONLY if I feel like; not when someone forces. Also, stop saying #Hindi "is the National language." IT IS NOT. #StopHindiImposition
