On Sunday, almost all the news portals including the leading ones, released the picture of Virat Kohli-Anushka Sharma’s baby Vamika after the camera captured her while the former Indian captain dedicated his half century for her. It was the first time public got to see Vamika as Anushka and Kohli were very much keen on hiding her identity for the betterment of her future. Now, after the pictures and videos got leaked, Anushka came up with an important statement reiterating her stand about not willing to see the picture of her baby being shared or clicked.

India’s star batsman Virat Kohli scored his 64th ODI fifty in the third One Day International against South Africa. After reaching the fifty, he celebrated the feat by gesturing that he dedicates it for his child. Immediately, camera captured Anushka Sharma carrying her baby and celebrating her husband’s half century. Fans got enough time to capture various screen shots and to share it in online platforms. Even leading news portals shared the picture of Kohli-Anushka’s baby titling it as “Pic of the day”

On seeing the pictures of their daughter going viral among the online users, Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma came up with a story in their respective social media handles, stating that they are unaware of the camera capturing their daughter and made it clear that they are still sticking with their stand of not willing to see their daughter getting special attention.

“Hi guys! We realise that our daughters images were captured at the stadium yesterday and widely shared thereafter. We want to inform everyone that we were caught off guard and didn’t know that the camera was on us. Our stance and request on the matter stays the Same. We would really appreciate if Vamika’s images are not clicked/ published for reasons we have explained earlier. Thank you!” read the caption of their post.

Last month, Anushka came up with a story in her official Instagram handle, requesting fans, public and media not to reveal the picture of her daughter Vamika as she, along with her husband Kohli, eyeing for a normal childhood for her. Starting her post with a gratitude to Indian media for not publishing the picture of Vamika till that day, Anushka expressed her wish of raising Vamika away from media and social media. The couple gave birth to Vamika on 21st of January 2021.

While being pregnant, Anushka Sharma, while speaking to Vogue, said “We have thought about it a lot. We definitely do not want to raise a child in the public eye. We don’t plan on engaging our child in social media. I think it’s a decision your child should be able to take. No kid should be made more special than the other. It’s hard enough for adults to deal with it. It’s going to be difficult but we intend to follow through”

Ever since making such a statement, the father and duo gave their best not to reveal the identity of their child. “We are deeply thankful to the Indian paparazzi and most of the media fraternity for not publishing pictures/videos of Vamika. As parents, our request to the few who carried the images/video will be to support us going forward. We seek privacy for our child and would like to do our best to give her a chance to live her life freely away from media and social media” the actress said through her Instagram story which was posted on 21st of December.
