As soon as the movie “Super Deluxe” released, positive reviews from everywhere kept on pouring. Considered as one of the aesthetic movies that has been ever released in Tamil Cinema, Super Deluxe recognised as a “Cult Classic” within two days of it’s release.

The film has received unbelievably positive reviews from critics across the country. On the other hand, though the audience’s feedback is predominantly positive, the film has also received some negative response.

Inspired from movies like Babel, Amores Perros, 21 Grams and Pulp fiction, Thyagaraja Kumararaja handled it very well as far as technical aspects and story links are concerned. But to our shock, now a group of transgenders has come up with an allegation saying that what was showed in the movie about transgenders has no reality at all.

In the film, Vijay Sethupathi’s character Shilpa confesses to abducting and giving two kids to someone for money. Shilpa reveals that she later found those kids at a traffic signal, begging, and with terrible physical disabilities.

This particular scene has not gone down well with a few transgender people, who have questioned when has anyone from their community kidnapped or harmed a child. They have demanded the arrest of Vijay Sethupathi.

Several representatives of the transgender community have expressed their opposition against the half baked portrayal of their gender in Super Deluxe. Earlier a set of transgenders condemned the role and demanded the arrest of Vijay Sethupathi. They said ““We could not get into our house that easily as you showed in the movie. And the way you showed that you are a married Transgender is not at all believable. It is hurting to see a respectable actor like you to do such role. We never expected an actor who shows his affection in public functions towards Transgenders to shame us like this” said Revathi.

Now in this video another set of Transgenders severely criticized the film and demanding apologize from Vijay Sethupathi and Thyagaraja Kumararaja. “We expected another Kanchana but heavily disappointed” said one of the Transgender. They also added that it the wig removing scenes are obscene. “The way society called us with obscene names are fading nowadays. This film shot in a way of reminding all of it” alleged one of them.

The movie has actor Vijay Sethupathi in the role of a transgender, Ramyakrishnan as retired porn actress and Samantha as flawed woman who had her ex-boyfriend killed while having sex. Being a hyperlink drama, the movie narrated in a non-linear way of story telling.

Directed by Thiagarajan Kumararaja, the screenplay for this film Super Deluxe has been co-written by Mysskin, Nalan Kumarasamy, Neelan K. Sekar and the director himself. The film is divided into various segments and stars Vijay Sethupathi, Fahadh Faasil, Samantha Akkineni and Ramya Krishnan in lead roles.
