Senior leader Durai Murugan of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK)  is an Indian lawyer and politician. He graduated in BL and MA and is an advocate by profession.

Murugan was first elected to the Tamil Nadu legislative assembly in 1971 and has been elected six times since. He was elected from the Katpadi constituency in 2006. After the 2006 assembly elections, Murugan was appointed Minister for Public Works in the Government of Tamil Nadu.

Oviya made her acting debut with Malayalam film Kangaroo in 2007. However, her ticket to fame was her first Tamil film Kalavani opposite Vimal. Before she entered the Bigg Boss Tamil house as a contestant, Oviya had some interesting projects in her filmography. Currently, she is the most popular contestant of the first season of the reality show hosted by Kamal Haasan.

Her popularity among viewers rose to an unexpected level when they saw Oviya’s attitude inside the house compared to other contestants such as Juliana and Gayathri. In fact, her fan group Oviya Army on Facebook has already amassed about 75,000 followers within five weeks since the show began.

Her curt reply to Snehan, “Neenga Shut up Pannunga (You please shut up),” has now become a catchy phrase, being used on t-shirts for fans to show their love.

The memes that are created by Oviya’s Army to support her has become another reason why she has become popular, even among people who don’t watch the show.

Bigg Boss season 2 threw in a surprise guest, who is none other than Oviya. The actor was one of the big reasons why the first season of Bigg Boss Tamil became a huge success. Her fans called themselves Oviya’s army. The actor, however, left the first season midway because of depression now returned to loud cheers from fans. She entered the house and the housemates are shocked to see her enter.

When reporters asked to Minister Duraimurugan about this “Army” Duraimurugan cheerfully said “after Oviya its me who seems to have an army, he laughs”. Watch the video below :
