Adipurush Film drew crowds to theatres around the world, an unfortunate incident occurred that caught the attention of social media users. A video went viral on Twitter, alleging that a person had been attacked for occupying the seat reserved for Lord Hanuman.
According to the tweet, the incident took place at Bhramaramba Theatre in Hyderabad, Telangana, adding a distressing twist to the film’s release. Director Om Raut had made a special request during a trailer event in Tirupati, urging the film’s producers to keep a seat vacant in every theatre where Adipurush was screened as a mark of respect for Lord Hanuman. Raut firmly believes that Lord Hanuman’s presence is felt whenever the Hindu epic Ramayana is recited or depicted.
While the authenticity and context of the video are still under scrutiny, its circulation on social media platforms has sparked discussions and debates. It raises important questions about the intersection of religious sentiments, personal beliefs, and individual behavior within a diverse society.

Adipurush, the highly anticipated Indian epic mythological film, has finally hit the big screens, offering a modernized version of the timeless Ramayana. Starring Prabhas, Saif Ali Khan, Kriti Sanon, and Devdatte Nage in pivotal roles, the movie showcases director Om Raut’s vision of the revered Hindu epic. While the film boasts impressive performances and a captivating first half, it falls short in terms of visual effects and fails to maintain the same momentum throughout its runtime.
Prabhas, known for his charismatic presence, delivers an outstanding performance as Lord Rama. His aura and regal demeanor bring the character to life, capturing the essence of the noble protagonist. Saif Ali Khan, cast as the antagonist Lankesh (Ravana), impresses with his fiery portrayal, earning accolades for his impeccable acting skills. Kriti Sanon shines as Sita, showcasing her versatility as she successfully takes on the challenge of portraying a character rooted in divinity. Devdatte Nage breathes life into the role of Lord Hanuman, adding depth and authenticity to the narrative. Director Om Raut exhibits his strength in handling the dramatic sequences, effectively capturing the essence of the story in the first half.

Unfortunately, the film’s second half fails to sustain the initial momentum, starting on a dull note and struggling to keep the audience engaged. The final battle sequence, while significant, consumes a significant portion of the runtime and becomes exhaustively long. The editing could have been tighter, reducing the film’s length and improving its pacing. Moreover, the visual effects, despite efforts to rectify earlier criticisms, remain substandard for a movie with a substantial budget. The VFX shortcomings hinder the immersive experience, preventing the film from reaching its full potential in terms of visual brilliance.
One notable drawback of Adipurush is its dominance of the Hindi language. As a Telugu-Hindi bilingual film, it was expected to strike a balance between the two languages. However, the excessive use of Hindi dialogue disappoints Telugu-speaking audiences who were eagerly anticipating a more balanced representation. Furthermore, the portrayal of Ravanasura’s look and the design of the Lanka world may not resonate with all viewers, as some scenes tend to be exaggerated, taking cinematic liberties that might not align with everyone’s expectations.

Adipurush benefits from well-written Telugu dialogues by Bheem Sreenivas and captivating lyrics penned by Ramajogayya Sastry, complemented by the soul-stirring music composed by the Ajay-Atul duo. The songs “Shivoham” and “Jai Shree Ram” stand out, evoking emotional responses from the audience. The costumes by Nachiket Barve infuse a modern touch into the film, while the production design by Priya Suhass and Nishanth Jogdand receives mixed reactions due to its unique portrayal of the Lanka world.

The cinematography by Karthik Palani is commendable, but the choreography of action set pieces lacks excitement. Director Om Raut exhibits his prowess in portraying the drama and emotional aspects of the story, particularly in the film’s first half. However, more attention could have been given to the second half to maintain the same level of engagement. Adipurush is a modern retelling of Ramay
