The leading actors of Tamil film industry – Suriya, Vijay Sethupathi and Vishal – have contributed towards relief funds for those affected by Cyclone Gaja in Tamil Nadu.

The recent ‘Cyclone Gaja’ left many Tamil Nadu districts devasted, with the death toll reaching 45. According to a Behindwoods report, Vijay Sethupathi has donated Rs 25 lakh for the ‘Cyclone Gaja’ relief work.

Agriculture and horticulture losses have affected the lives of people in rural areas. Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Thanjavur, Cuddalore, Pudukkottai and Ramanathapuram are the most affected districts.

On that note, actor Sivakumar’s family has donated a sum of Rs 50 lakhs, that also includes the donation of his sons Suriya, Karthi, and daughter-in-law, Jyothika.

Actor Vishal, who is the president of Tamil Nadu Film Producers’ Council, took to Twiiter and wrote, “Nature’s fury, in name of #CycloneGaja was @ its peak. We need to come together & help the affected. Apart from Food, Clothing, Essential house hold, we have to organise for Coconut saplings & We must Donate as much as we can.Let us collectively help rebuild #KaveriDelta.”

Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) president  MK Stalin on Monday announced Rs 1crore financial assistance for the relief and rehabilitation work in cyclone Gaja hit areas in eight districts of the state.

Stalin also declared that his party members of the Rajya Sabha and Legislative Assembly will also donate their one month’s salary for the relief and rehabilitation works.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K. Palaniswami on Monday announced a sum of Rs.1,000 crore for carrying out relief works in the cyclone Gaja affected districts.

Now Actor Vijay has joined the list of the donors by donating to the Gaja victims through his fan clubs.

Thalapathy Vijay has now entered the scene by making a substantial contribution towards the relief funds through his authorized fan clubs.

He has been making multiple contributions of sizeable amounts and fans have taken to social media to share the credited amount from Vijay.

According to Indiaglitz  website, the actor has deposited 4.5 Lakhs in all heads of Vijay Makkal Iyakkam who located in the nearby districts of Gaja affected areas. It is also said that Vijay had instructed them to provide necessary welfare activities.

This is a great move from the star actor at this time of need.
