Malayalam actor Sreenath Basu got arrested and later released on bail after abusing a female anchor on air. Video of the actor making the derogatory remarks are doing rounds in social media platforms. The incident happened while the actor was promoting his upcoming film. The actor got arrested on 26th of September, on Monday by the police of Kochi.

Basu also abused the camera crew along with the journalist and she who belongs to a youtube channel, filed a police complaint against him last week. In the meantime, an old video of the actor abusing a radio jockey resurfaced in the internet and the users of online platforms has been calling out the actor for making such distasteful comments against the journalist. Many users also stating that it is not right to arrest the actor for expressing his frustration.

Based on the complaint filed by the anchor, the Maradu Police arrested Sreenath when he arrived at the station with his lawyer. The complainant said that Sreenath hurled abuse at her and the camera crew. She further added that Sreenath had asked them to switch off the cameras during the interview.

Later, Sreenath Basi was released on bail. According to reports, the Police officials are investigating the case and will decide whether to press more charges on the actor or not. In the video which is going viral, the anchor could be seen asking the actor to list the 5 actors he had acted with considering their performances as rowdies.

Though the actor tried to answer the question at first, it seemed like he became restless when the interview was not progressing well. He went on to ask if he could leave the interview in halfway. Bhasi asked the anchor to refrain from asking “silly” questions and even said that he is “really pissed off”.

Bhasi began his career as a radio jockey and later turned into a video jockey. He made his debut in film industry in the year 2011 in a movie of Mohan lal and has acted in 50 plus films so far.
