An elderly man who sexually harassed a +2 studying girl student got arrested by Police officials under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences act. The victim was creating awareness about getting vaccinated to prevent the spread of the COVID 19 virus by visiting door to door and got sexually harassed by the accused who was identified as Wallaram. The incident took place on Sunday at Sundhara Muthali street, Kondithope, Chennai according to reports.

On Monday, the 45 year old Wallaram was remanded in judicial custody. Police officials said that the plus two student joined the awareness programme conducted by the Greater Chennai Corporation on the importance of vaccination against COVID 19 virus. The All Women Police of Flower Bazaar arrested the accused on Monday.

The incident caused outrage among the users of social media platforms with reactions pouring to produce stringent laws to punish such miscreants. A user said that medicine should be found to control men sexually whereas many demanded severe punishment for him. Actress Sharmila who is also a renowned Doctor, uploaded a tweet condemning the accused for his behaviour.

She wanted the government not to waste money and energy on such criminals and suggested “cutting” his private part to make him realize his mistake. “We shouldn’t waste our time by dealing him with court and case. We must “cut” his private part and give it to himself. Rascal” said Sharmila in her tweet by writing “இவனுங்களை எல்லாம் court case னு டைம் வேஸ்ட் பண்ணாம கட் பண்ணி கைல குடுத்திடணும் ராஸ்கல்ஸ்”
