One year old tweet of Vijay Devarakonda about collecting more than Rs. 200 crore with his “Liger” started trending in the micro blogging social media site as soon as the film completed its first show in theatres. Majority number of film reviewers and fans who watched the film has been giving poor reviews for the film as a result of which the old tweet got resurfaced and is trending with hilarious reactions.
“Liger” released in theatres across India on 25th of August with much expectations from fans as the promotions were done in a massive way. “Dear @purijagan- stop being lazy, crores getting invested as people trust you. Next time – get a bound script ready and then go to shoot. You should actually refund us the ticket cost for this torture of a movie !” movie reviewer Prashanth tweeted as soon as watching the movie.

“#Liger A movie that had potential to be decent is wasted by senseless writing and cringe worthy scenes! VD tried his best and body transformation is great but his stammering is annoying. Heroine track is awful. Other than a few moments, Nothing else to mention” another movie reviewer of Telugu region tweeted.

Being one of the most awaited films of the “Arjun Reddy” actor, “Liger” has VJD as an MMA fighter who goes on to win his matches. Known for his films that involves romance and violence, Vijay is expected to rock in the never seen before Avatar of him. Along with Vijay Devarakonda, the film stars Ananya Pandey, former boxing champion Mike Tyson and others. The film is directed by Puri Jagannath of “Pokkiri” and “Temper” fame. Renowned Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar is one of the producers of the movie.

Now, after the poor reviews, a tweet made by Vijay Devarakonda responding to a rumour in the year 2021 is trending now. During July 2021, a buzz surfaced in Internet saying that his film “Liger” has received a huge offer from an OTT platform. To make the film have a direct digital release, the unknown OTT platform offered Rs. 200 crore including satellite rights in all languages, said Thy view in their post. They further stated that the makers are considering the offer of selling the film for Rs. 200 crore in a digital platform.
The post seemed to have grabbed the attention of Vijay Devarakonda himself. The actor who is known for his outspoken manner and devil may care attitude, denied the rumour saying that the amount is too little and added that he will do more than that in theatres. “Too little. I’ll do more in the theaters.” Vijay said in a tweet as his reply.
