Kollywood fans, here is a good news for y’all. Nivin Pauly’s first direct tamil movie, Richie, The most awaited movie is all set to release the screens.The movie is actually a remake of the critically-acclaimed Kannada thriller Ulidavaru Kandanthe. The makers of the movie confirmed that the movie will be released on 8th December.
Gautham Ramachandran, the movie’s director has told that the actor’s role in the movie is going to be something which the audience have never seen from Nivin Pauly. “The character of Richie will be a stark contrast from what the audiences, even in Kerala, have seen Nivin do so far. If they had categorised him in any way, Richie will be diagonally opposite to that, I’m sure.” says Gautham.
Initialy, it was planned that the movie will be a bilingual one, but then Nivin insisted that the movie should be taken in Tamil, as he was sure that the movie will have a great impact among the Tamil audience.
The film also stars cinematographer-actor Natty, Shraddha Srinath, Lakshmi Priyaa and Prakash Raj. In Tamil Nadu, the film will be released via Trident Arts, currently on a roll with the success of Vikram Vedha, Aval and Aramm.
Geethu Mohandas’s Moothon, apart from Hey Jude and Love Action Drama are his upcoming projects and it is also expected to start shooting for Malayalam film Kairali, based on the disappearance of a bulk carrier, owned by Kerala Shipping Corporation.
